Highly profitable banking industry rises to world standards

The Maritime Bank is one of the Region’s most successful.

Adjara possesses a large banking network. The system is comprised of 22 different banks most of which have corresponding relationships with financial institutions from major countries around the world.

In recent years several highly sophisticated new banks have been established all corresponding to requirements for leading global institutions. Batumi Maritime Bank has correspondent accounts in 25 nations around the world including the United States, Japan and most European countries.

The banking industry in Adjara is a highly successful sector of the economy, with profits increasing more than 50-fold in comparison with operations ten years ago. This growth rate is attributed to a stable taxation policy and the general growth of the Adjarian economy. Such growth rate was attained by stable taxation policy and revival of different branches of economy.
