Our favorite places to sleep:

Hilton Copenhagen Airport offers luxurious convenience
"We are the only hotel in Denmark with our own airport," said General Manager Allan Agerholm in a remarkably modest explanation the Hilton Copenhagen Airport Hotel. Rather than just offering the convenience of an Airport hotel, Hilton Copenhagen Airport has won "Best Hotel in Copenhagen" by Global Finance magazine five times and "Denmark’s Best Hotel" four times by Danish Travel Awards since it opened in 2001.
Brigitte Nielsen, Tony Blair, Bill Gates, and the members of Black Eyed Peas have all chosen the Hilton Copenhagen Airport Hotel as their the favorite place to stay in Copenhagen; no small wonder since this hotel caters to its guests’ every wish. Each of the hotel’s 331 rooms is connected with satellite and cable TV, with sets furnished by Bang and Olufsen, high speed internet access, down pillows and coverlets, floor to ceiling windows, and in-room coffee and tea appliances.

Accessible by a two-minute stroll down a covered walkway that connects the hotel lobby with the airport terminal, the convenience of this five star hotel should not be underestimated. The hotel has a directory of departing flights situated in the lobby for the convenience of travelers, so you can check in and come back to your room to shower or eat breakfast. In-hotel services include a 24-hour fitness center containing hi-tech workout facilities, steam bath, sauna, and swimming pool. Fitness equipment can also be delivered to one’s room.

There is an executive lounge available to all guests staying on the Executive floors, but also available to other guests for an additional fee. This Club Room serves a continental breakfast in the morning, coffee and tea service throughout the day, a lavish hors d’ouvre array in the late afternoon and evening that also includes cordials. If guests want to work in a relaxed atmosphere, the Club Room provides a PC and free Internet access. A fireplace is located at one end of the lounge, and as in many other areas of the hotel, artwork by the Danish artists Jens Birkemose, Peter Bonde, and Erik Frandsen can be seen at the other end.

Many travelers consider airport hotels to be business and conference centers, and the Hilton Copenhagen Airport is no exception. The hotel has hosted large events for the EU-Presidency, Merck, Pfizer, SAAB, Sony, and other companies, in its 29 meeting rooms, 14 of which are located in Airport Terminal 3. Each meeting room is equipped with ergonomically contoured chairs, flipcharts, white-boards, overhead projectors, telephone lines, including a hotline to the Hilton’s Business Center. Each meeting room also has access to Internet workstations, high-speed Internet connections, photocopying, lamination of documents, and a mini-bar loaded with soft drinks.

This hotel is not exclusively a business hotel, however. For those travelers who wish to enjoy the delights of central Copenhagen, the Hilton Copenhagen Airport is only 12 minutes by high-speed train from Copenhagen’s Central Station, located directly across from the Tivoli Gardens, the Ny Carlsburg Glyptotek (museum) and a few minute stroll from Copenhagen’s famed walking streets lined with shops and cafes. The Hotel also offers guests bicycles to use at any time, free of charge, and the kitchen will prepare a lunch basket and provide blankets for a real picnicking experience. A beach is only 15 minutes away by foot.

The best part of the Hilton Copenhagen Airport Hotel, however, is its food and world-class service. The hotel has two restaurants and a bar. Twenty-four hour room service is available for all guests. Don’t feel like going to the gym? The hotel will deliver workout equipment to your room. The staff makes certain you are happy and comfortable from the minute you step from your plane to their haven on terminal three. This world class service is indicative of the philosophy expressed by Allan Agerholm, the hotel’s hands-on general manager. He strives to make sure that his hotel continues to be the finest in Denmark, not only because of the services the hotel offers, the structural excellence of the building, and its proximity to the airport and downtown Copenhagen, but also his employees are warm and helpful to each and every guest.
